Creating a more informed and inclusive multicultural society: working to eliminate prejudice, intolerance and discrimination against individuals or groups in our communities
The City of Riverside Human Relations Commission takes this opportunity to invite you to the California Association of Human Relations Organizations (CAHRO) Convening. The event will be at Riverside City Hall, 3900 Main Street, Riverside CA 92501, in the Mayor’s Ceremonial Room on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The event will focus on educating community leaders on the resources available to create a more informed and inclusive multicultural society. With a group of revered, diverse individuals, we hope that through this convening we will be able to come together and not only improve human relations amongst our local communities, but in the nation.
The conference will highlight two specific topics with the ultimate goal of working to eliminate prejudice, intolerance and discrimination against individuals or groups in our communities.
1:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. – “Hate and Extremism” by Professor Brian Levin
1:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. – “Race Relations: Men and Boys of Color” by Attorney Jack Clarke, BB&K Law Firm
Following the training lectures, there will be small breakout sessions with the purpose of addressing necessary issues and finding solutions to the problems that are prevalent in our society today.
This is the first time that CAHRO has held a convening in the City of Riverside.
