Several Los Angeles area jails, including one in Van Nuys, made the federal government’s list of facilities where local law enforcement authorities rejected requests to detain undocumented immigrants past their release dates.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday released what federal officials described as a “weekly” report that identifies “noncooperative” cities, including some that are sometimes referred to as “sanctuary” cities or counties.
